Experteer Overview

As an AIT Engineer at OHB Italia, you will lead the integration, alignment, testing, and commissioning of medium‑size telescopes across in‑house facilities and remote observatories. You’ll work with optics, mechanics, and systems teams to ensure high‑precision setups and robust on‑site performances. The role blends hands‑on fieldwork with documentation, troubleshooting, and design feedback across international missions. This is a mission‑driven position that advances space surveillance and telescope capabilities on global sites.

  • Execute Integration & Test activities for medium‑size telescopes, both in‑house and on‑site
  • Perform optical alignment and calibration with optics and system engineers
  • Prepare AIT documentation including test procedures, workflows, and reports
  • Handle critical assemblies and Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Participate in night observation campaigns and system verification tests
  • Support technical reviews and contribute to design improvements from test results
  • Coordinate with logistics and operations for global site installations

Responsabilità

  • Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Engineering, Aerospace, Physics or related fields
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in AIT or system integration
  • Practical experience with mechanical and optical handling and alignment
  • Basic proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA)
  • Skilled in MS Office and standard reporting tools
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot integration issues and propose effective solutions
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules
  • Fluent in English;
    additional languages a plus
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay on‑site for international missions
