Smart eyewear product design engineer

Product Design Engineer – Smart Eyewear Project Job Description The candidate will act as Product Design Engineer for the Smart Eyewear project. The role spans from the very beginning of the project, supporting product design and development up to launch to mass production. The candidate will be responsible for 3 D modeling on CAD and the design of complex smart eyewear systems where aesthetics play a key role, and will work closely with product engineers, industrial designers, UX team, quality, and manufacturing. Areas of Responsibilities and Related Activities Develop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ideate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems Push state‑of‑the‑art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems Work across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalization Collaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team and quality Travel to and support engineering builds and vendor visits Educational background in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design Knowledge and experience of Parametric 3 D CAD software, better if Creo software Knowledge and experience of PDM, better if Windchill system Knowledge of design and process of injection molding 3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold design Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3 D/2 D CAD Knowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materials Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc. Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross‑functional teams Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams High level of organizational skills Scientific approach and great problem‑solving skills Ability to operate in dynamic, fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision Previous experience in Consumer Electronics product development is greatly appreciated Experience with Office 365 Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
