Job Summary Functions as the strategic business leader of property operations and acts as General Manager in his/her absence. The role oversees Front Office, Spa/Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering/Maintenance, Food and Beverage/Culinary and Event Management. The position works with direct reports to develop and implement the operations strategy, ensuring brand service strategy implementation, meeting target customer needs, maximizing financial performance, and ensuring employee satisfaction. As a member of the Executive Committee, the role develops property‑wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed brand expectations and provides a return on investment.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education And Experience

2‑year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years’ experience in management operations

4‑year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 6 years’ experience in management operations

Keeps operations team focused on critical components to drive guest satisfaction and desired financial results.

Ensures all operational areas provide an atmosphere conducive to the overall guest experience.

Reviews financial reports and statements to assess performance against budget.

Ensures capital expenditure funds address priorities outlined in the service strategy.

Works with direct reports to identify concerns and establish improvements in departmental financial performance.

Strives to maintain profit margins without compromising guest or employee satisfaction.

Identifies and analyzes operational challenges, facilitating solutions to prevent recurrence.

Coaches and supports operations team to manage occupancy & rate, wages, and controllable expenses.

Reviews the Wage Progress Report, compares budgeted wages to actual wages, coaching direct reports to address problem areas and holding team accountable.

Develops an operational strategy aligned with brand business strategy and leads its execution.

Executes key decisions to keep property progressing toward goals.

Enforces strict cost control practices, preventing avoidable expenses from non‑compliant behaviors and monitoring financial impact of operational discipline.

Implements brand and regional business initiatives, communicating follow‑up actions to the team.

Enforces strict adherence to company procedures and operational standards across all departments.

Oversees staff housing, ensuring proper use, cleanliness, safety, and respect of shared spaces.

Initiates immediate corrective actions for misconduct or operational non‑compliance.

Leading Property Operations Teams

Establishes a vision for product and service delivery on property.

Champions the brand’s service vision and ensures alignment among property leadership.

Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

Observes employee service behaviors and provides feedback to individuals or managers.

Hires operations management team members with strong expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial leadership.

Conducts annual performance appraisals with direct reports per SOP.

Utilizes an “open door” policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to address concerns.

Stays knowledgeable of leadership talent within the property.

Fosters employee commitment to excellent service, participates in daily stand‑up meetings, and models desired behaviors.

Ensures strict compliance with policies related to attendance, absence reporting, leave authorization, and conduct.

Partners with HR to guarantee timely communication of employee status in accordance with legal requirements.

Ensures managers reinforce policies daily and monitors compliance within teams.

Addresses and escalates cases of unauthorized leave or absence, ensuring proper disciplinary processes.

Promotes awareness among leaders of financial, legal, and operational consequences of non‑compliant behaviors.

Ensures full compliance with Italian labor law requirements, avoiding company risk.

Compensation & Benefits

Gross Annual Salary: €85,000.00 – 92,000.00 (calculated pro‑rata when employment covers only part of the year)

Housing

Bonus Marriott International

The 13th and 14th month payments are included in the gross annual salary and accrued pro‑rata on the actual period worked.

TFR (severance) is an additional amount set aside during employment and paid at contract end.
