The Role
We are seeking an
IoT Hardware Engineer & Lab Manager
to lead the electronic design of our IoT devices while also managing the lab and warehouse at our Como headquarters. This role has a strong technical focus—electronic design, prototyping, industrialization—that extends to overseeing the supply chain, quality, logistics, and support.
What will you do?
Electronic Design and Industrialization
Hardware design of IoT devices: define electronic architectures, select components, develop schematics, and oversee PCB layouts, coordinating with external designers and the firmware/software development team.
Lead the prototyping phases—from breadboards to the first pilot batches—conducting and supervising functional, reliability, and environmental tests both in the lab and in the field.
Product industrialization: oversee transition from prototype to series production, including assembly specifications, DFM/DFT, and production process validation.
Procurement and supply chain: select component suppliers, negotiate, perform incoming quality control, monitor costs and lead times, and provide technical support for all IoT products launched on the market.
Laboratory and Warehouse
Organize daily laboratory and warehouse activities, overseeing consumables and packaging inventory.
Monitor device shipment requests, their return, and inspections in the event of malfunctions.
Coordinate warehouse staff for shipments, repairs, and dismantling/recycling in compliance with RENTRI regulations.
Ensure device traceability throughout their lifecycle and organize activities with third‑party suppliers for assembly, customization, and shipping.
Who are we looking for?
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related STEM disciplines
Concrete experience in electronic circuit design (schematics, PCB layout, component selection)
Knowledge of prototyping, testing and industrialization processes of electronic devices
Familiarity with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, soldering station, etc.)
Experience in supplier management, hardware procurement, and supply chain
Experience in warehouse and logistics management
Available from September 2026
Skills that make the difference
Experience with wireless communication technologies (LoRa, BLE, NB‑IoT, Wi‑Fi) and typical IoT protocols
Knowledge of product regulations and certifications (CE, RED, RoHS)
Organizational skills and management of priorities on multiple fronts simultaneously
Ability to work in a team and coordinate internal and external resources
Problem solving and proactivity in the face of unexpected events
Attention to detail, especially in quality control and traceability
Clear and effective communication with different interlocutors (suppliers, technical team, subcontractors)
What we offer
Permanent contract, full-time
RAL €40,000 – €60,000 based on experience
