Role
Rebag is hiring a passionate buyer to join the Buying team. As a buyer, the ideal candidate will have experience in luxury goods, exposure to the resale market, and an understanding of pricing. This role focuses on analytics and supports the director of buying.
Responsibilities
- Researching: Assist the buying team with research for our six categories—Handbags, Accessories, Watch, Jewelry, Shoes, and Apparel. The information gathered is vital to decision‑making. Understanding luxury markets and having sound knowledge of different luxury brands and their seasonal collections is an important function of this role.
- Pricing: Understand how resale pricing for luxury goods works. Research market trends and resale price comps. Work extensively on our client submissions and learn how to recognize high‑end designer trends, models, and SKUs from our database and site search. Determine the buying price and resale price based on market research and establish margin.
- General Buying: Organize various buying process guides, team learnings, and buying documents. Perform buying support duties such as updating data, exporting and tracking files, and responding to general buying enquiries from other departments.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of solid buying experience acquiring final products at fashion brands or department stores.
- Highly quantitative and comfortable using spreadsheets, excel and doing retail math.
- Previous experience managing OTB is preferred.
- Strong analytical and logical skills.
- Prior luxury and resale knowledge is a plus.
- Strong team orientation and ability to take feedback positively.
- Excellent organisational and multi‑tasking skills.
- Research‑minded and detail‑oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment while maintaining a positive, ownership‑focused mindset.
- Ability to operate fully remotely and digitally.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ownership mentality, highly organized, and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness and ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing start‑up environment.
