The Technical Proposals Application Engineer plays a critical role within the KS Commercial Team, serving as the technical lead throughout the commercial lifecycle. The position is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive technical proposals, defining project scope, technical deliverables, and cost estimates. Working in close partnership with sales, commercial, and engineering teams, the Technical Proposals Application Engineer provides technical guidance during customer engagements, supports proposal and contract negotiations, and helps ensure commercially viable and technically sound solutions that drive business success.
Responsibilities
Collaborating closely with the Commercial Manager, Solution Architects and Digital Sales Team during deal negotiations, with a primary focus on the definition and preparation of the technical scope.
Analyzing technical specifications, tenders, and Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluating the scope of supply and identifying technical and commercial risk factors.
Defining and preparing comprehensive Scopes of Work, including product and unit optimization, digital solutions, training programs, advanced engineering services, project schedules, industrial schemes, and performance calculations.
Developing cost estimates and managing cost control for all proposed technical services and solutions.
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical implementation risks, ensuring effective risk management throughout the proposal development process.
Engaging with relevant internal functions to address deviations, clarify technical requirements, and respond to specific customer requests, optimizing proposal quality and responsiveness.
Contributing to the continuous improvement and maintenance of Inquiry‑to‑Order (ITO) processes, tools, and best practices in collaboration with Global Technical Sales (GTS) counterparts.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
Interest in new technologies, digitalization and application of Artificial Intelligence.
Familiarity with, or a strong interest in, Oil & Gas rotating equipment.
A passion for working in a global environment and supporting energy transition.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Flexibility to travel as business needs require, including occasional short‑notice travel.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management capabilities.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills.

Pay
The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 43,599.34 To 59,400. The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
