Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) acts as the principal liaison for all quality-related matters pertaining to supplier-delivered products. This position requires close cooperation with key departments such as Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics. The SQE’s primary goal is to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, thereby minimizing defects and reducing costs related to quality issues. The SQE is responsible for developing and strengthening the supply base to align with business requirements.ResponsibilitiesSupport the identification, scouting, and selection of potential new suppliersQualify suppliers according to company standardsConduct periodic audits to verify and ensure compliance with company requirementsLead suppliers in executing root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and support the development of robust corrective actions (CA)Review the results of on-the-job inspections in accordance with Quality Control PlansAssist suppliers with Deviation Request (SDR) managementManage supplier-related Non-Conformity Records (NCR)Provide technical support to the buyer, engineering team, or BOM team to effectively manage purchasing needsQualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, or minimum 5 years of work experience in quality, engineering or testing departmentAbility to read and understand technical drawings and specificationFluent in English and ItalianProficiency in PC and office softwareWillingness to travel frequentlyDesired CharacteristicsAwareness of quality system requirements and ISO9001Knowledge of welding techniques, NDT method, surface preparation and paintingEffective problem-solving abilitiesKnowledge of Turbo machinery products (Gas/steam turbine, Compressor)Understanding of Six Sigma methodologiesNCA/RCA leaderStrong negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skillsHighly motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAttitude to set aggressive targets and challenge the status quoStrong communication skills, both internally with different functions and externally with suppliersStructured, data-driven mindset.
