About the Role
This is a fulltime, onsite role for a Research and Development at REEMOON Sorting Equipment in Italy. In this position, you will engage in various research and development tasks, as a Fruit and Vegetable Intelligent Sorting R&D Engineer, responsible for machine vision system development and implementation..
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the REEMOON to develop and optimize intelligent fruit and vegetable sorting systems for a variety of projects in the Italy fruit and vegetable industry.
• Responsible for the research, development, and optimization of visual algorithms for intelligent fruit and vegetable sorting equipment.
• Participated in the development of algorithms such as fruit appearance defect detection, color recognition, size grading, and maturity detection.
• Cooperated with the automation team to complete the joint debug of equipment, optimizing sorting accuracy and operational stability.
• Participate in industrial field testing, data acquisition, and problem analysis to continuously improve system performance.
• Write R&D technical documents, test reports, and related technical materials.
Qualifications
• Have a background in Automation or related fields, and are familiar with OpenCV, Python/C++, and skilled in standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Experience in machine vision projects.
• Research experience in fruit and vegetable quality inspection.
• Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin is highly advantageous.
• Possess good logical analysis skills, teamwork skills, and on-site problem-solving abilities.
• Able to adapt to a certain degree of project site commissioning and business trips.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in customized / non-standard automation equipment.
Preferred Skills
• Understanding of industrial automation systems is a plus.
• Experience in the fruit or food industry are preferred.
• Has experience in industrial cameras and spectral detection is a plus.
