Helpdesk Support Engineer
A consultancy client is supporting a leading organisation within the airport, postal and industrial automation sector and are looking for a Helpdesk Support Engineer to join their team in Genoa.
This role will provide first-line and remote support for operational automation environments, working closely with technical and engineering teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and system availability is maintained
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and onsite helpdesk support for industrial automation systems.
- Manage and prioritise support tickets through to resolution.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and operational issues within automation environments.
- Escalate and coordinate incidents with specialist technical and engineering teams.
- Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, actions and resolutions.
- Support operational continuity within a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Participate in an on-call rota (approximately one week per month).
Required Skills & Experiencence
- Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Service Desk or Technical Support role.
- Experience supporting industrial automation systems, manufacturing systems, logistics automation, airport baggage handling, postal automation, warehouse automation or similar operational technology (OT) environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing support tickets and coordinating with multiple technical teams.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks and system support.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good standard of spoken and written Italian and English.
