The resource will be inserted within the “Air Conditioning Systems” department, as part of the Functional Design of Fincantieri's Military Ships Division.
The role of Designer involves responsibility for the functional design of on-board HVAC systems.
The identified candidate will be able to define the architectures, configurations and technical requirements of the electrical and regulation systems related to the on-board HVAC system, to draw up the relevant technical specifications for purchase and equipment, to manage the procurement of components from third parties as well as to support production in the installation, start-up and final commissioning phases on board the same.
The position requires knowledge of CAD P&I tools.
In particular, the identified candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Starting from contractual, regulatory and functional technical requirements, make design choices aimed at defining the architectures, performance technical characteristics and configuration of the electrical, regulation and automation systems of the ship's HVAC system;
- Oversee the design of the regulation of HVAC process diagrams, drawing up the relevant instrumented P&IDs;
- Define the architectures of the air conditioning electrical system, defining the necessary switchboards;
- Be able to obtain their approval from the classification society and the shipowner, also through independent management of technical meetings with representatives of the counterparts;
- Draw up technical purchasing specifications for the supply of the HVAC electrical and regulation system as defined above;
- Manage the tender phase and supplier selection, interfacing with the purchasing function;
- Manage supplies by interfacing with suppliers and with other functions of the company structure to finalize the integration of supplies with the remaining ship systems;
- Manage design variations by promptly updating the technical documentation under your responsibility;
- Follow the on-board installation phase with constant contact with production, up to final commissioning;
- Support detailed engineering in the development of arrangements and coordinated 3D plans and construction documentation, starting from the elaborated functional diagrams;
- Interface with other functions of the company structure for the integration of its systems with the remaining ship systems;
- Evaluate the consequences of your design choices also through technical/economic and programmatic impact assessments.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Project Engineering roles;
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Naval Engineering;
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Knowledge of IT tools such as: MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD (Bentley/Microstation, Rhino, Autocad);
- Maximum attention and determination towards meeting programs and deadlines;
- Accuracy and precision in project execution, determination and results orientation, communication, initiative and proactivity;
- Willingness to work in a team;
- Availability for business trips.
