Experteer Overview
In this role you will apply climate data analysis to support NATO’s defence in multiple military domains. You will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the Climate Change and Security Programme, shaping assessments of climate impacts for operational environments, including Arctic contexts. You will publish in peer-reviewed venues, organize NATO workshops, and help secure external funding. You will also lead or assist CCS tabletop exercises to explore future scenarios, driving actionable insights for defense planning.

Analyze climate data and models to assess future impacts on NATO’s five military functional areas
Support the Climate Change and Security (CCS) Programme across NATO’s operational environment
Prepare internal reports and author scientific articles for publication
Organize and support NATO workshops/conferences; develop proposals for external funding
Lead or support Table-Top exercises (TTX) and wargames focused on CCS scenarios
Collaborate with cross-functional projects and contributors as needed
Responsabilità
Proven expertise in climate science and related data science or engineering fields
Strong research record with peer-reviewed publications and technical reports
Experience in defence analysis and knowledge of modern military capabilities
Proficiency with standard software and OS (Linux, Windows) and programming (Python, C/C++, MATLAB, R, SQL)
MSc (minimum) with 5 years post-MSc experience in climate data analysis; or PhD with 2 years post-PhD experience
English proficiency; knowledge of a second NATO language desirable
