Key Responsibilities
Assume full command of the vessel and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant conduct of all onboard operations.
Lead the vessel’s crew and maintain high standards of discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness.
Ensure safe navigation and compliance with company procedures and international maritime regulations.
Oversee all marine aspects of pipelay and offshore support activities, ensuring coordination with onboard departments and project management.
Maintain full compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and all relevant statutory and company requirements.
Be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies onboard.
Conduct risk assessments, toolbox meetings, emergency drills, and safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture onboard.
Monitor vessel stability, ballast operations, cargo/deck activities, and overall seaworthiness throughout the project.
Liaise with charterers, clients, port authorities, and company representatives in relation to operational and project requirements.
Prepare and submit all required reports, logs, and documentation related to vessel performance, incidents, compliance, and operational status.
Requirements
Valid STCW II/2 (Master) Certificate of Competency released in Italy.
Previous experience as Master on pipelay vessels is mandatory.
A solid familiarity with the offshore sector is required.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and crew management skills.
Good knowledge of ISM Code, international maritime regulations, and safety management systems.
Fluency in Italian (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
