PMO Operations Manager – Transcend Program

Location: Beerse, Belgium (alternative locations in Zug, Switzerland; Dublin, Ireland; Latina, Italy; Lisbon, Portugal; Madrid, Spain; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Milano, Italy; São Paulo, Brazil). Overview

Transcend is a global business‑transformation program that will modernize the Pharmaceutical ERP landscape by consolidating seven legacy systems into a single S/4 HANA platform. The PMO Operations Manager will drive delivery excellence across the program, ensuring governance, planning, risk management, reporting, and decision‑support processes enable successful execution at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end PMO operations across program phases to enable effective governance and high‑quality decision‑making inputs.
  • Drive integrated planning, RAID management, and change‑control processes to support proactive risk management and focused delivery.
  • Supervise schedule management by ensuring accurate, reliable, data‑driven tracking against the integrated program plan.
  • Handle scope governance by evaluating, documenting, and aligning changes with program objectives and collaborator expectations.
  • Deliver consistent, transparent status reporting across governance levels, providing clear, actionable insights to support decisions.
  • Champion predictive delivery practices to identify risks and opportunities early and enable timely intervention.
  • Ensure PMO operations align with compliance and quality standards, embedding a strong risk‑management culture.
  • Lead deliverables tracking and governance processes to maintain program integrity, visibility, and delivery confidence.
  • Ensure clear documentation of decisions, action items, and follow‑ups to drive accountability and execution.

Team Management & Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Lead PMO operations resources, including Deployment Leads and offshore teams, to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes across releases.
  • Provide day‑to‑day direction, coaching, and support to build a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing team environment.
  • Partner with Global Program Managers and PMO leadership to align priorities, strengthen communication, and enable integrated delivery.
  • Build strong relationships across geographically dispersed teams to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as an escalation point for PMO issues by coordinating resolution with leadership and cross‑functional collaborators.

Continuous Improvement & Accountability

  • Align deployment activities with program objectives by partnering with Deployment Leads to drive flawless execution and mitigate risks.
  • Provide clear, timely updates on PMO performance, resource needs, risks, and improvement opportunities to support informed decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by employing data and insights to enhance PMO processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Ensure effective PMO execution through accurate planning, focused tracking, reliable governance, and proactive risk management.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree or MBA preferred).

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in program or portfolio management within complex, global environments, including PMO leadership for large‑scale transformation initiatives such as ERP implementations.
  • Lead PMO operations teams and coordinate cross‑functional, geographically dispersed resources to deliver aligned program outcomes.
  • Strong expertise in delivery governance, including RAID management, schedule and scope control, status reporting, and risk management.
  • Use data‑driven insights to guide decision‑making and drive continuous improvement across PMO functions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams in a matrixed environment to strengthen execution and accountability.
  • Build strong collaborator relationships and communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to align priorities and drive results.
  • Demonstrate strong business insight, including understanding of compliance, quality standards, and change management principles in regulated environments.
  • Use project management tools and platforms to support execution, applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies as needed.
  • Operate effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic environments by leading multiple priorities and complex dependencies.
  • Apply strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Salary

Primary posting (Beerse, Belgium): €79,800.00 – €137,770.00 per year.
Additional locations: Ireland €70,100.00 – €121,210.00; Italy €56,100.00 – €96,945.00; Portugal €50,500.00 – €86,365.00.
