Lead Financial Accountant – IFRS, R2 R & Financial Reporting Milan, Italy | Hybrid We are partnering with a fast-growing international organisation seeking a Lead Financial Accountant to join its Record-to-Report (R2 R) finance team. This role will focus on end-to-end financial reporting, statutory compliance, process optimisation, and finance transformation initiatives across multinational operations. Key Responsibilities • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring IFRS and local GAAP compliance • Manage complex accounting activities including reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and statutory reporting • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in coordination with external partners • Deliver variance analysis across payroll, leasing, fixed assets, and operational finance areas • Drive finance process automation and continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Python • Collaborate closely with Finance, Payroll, Tax, Audit, and cross-functional stakeholders • Mentor and support junior finance team members, promoting best practice across the R2 R function • Support financial controls, reporting accuracy, and process standardisation initiatives Requirements • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) or actively pursuing qualification • Strong IFRS and statutory reporting expertise • Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes within multinational environments • Strong ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, Workday or similar) • Advanced Excel skills with exposure to Power BI, SQL, or Python preferred • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-growth environments This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional looking to combine financial reporting expertise with transformation, automation, and strategic business partnering in an international environment.
