The opportunity
We are looking for a
Senior Photonics Application Engineer
to join a highly specialised team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in
photonics, optical simulation, and optoelectronic systems , able to combine technical expertise with customer-facing skills and support the adoption of advanced simulation technologies across industrial applications.
With offices in
Bergamo, Turin, Florence, and Lecce , and a
hybrid model with 3 days remote working per week , this opportunity is also well suited to candidates who may live within reach of one of these locations and are looking for flexibility alongside a highly technical role.
Key responsibilities
Promote and support the adoption of advanced
photonics and optical simulation solutions
Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and support the sales team in engineering discussions
Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to support product positioning and distribution strategies
Monitor customer software usage, offering continuous support and helping clients strengthen their technical capabilities
Act as a trusted technical advisor on complex
photonics, optical and optoelectronic engineering challenges
Ideal profile
Senior-level experience in
Photonics, Optical Engineering, or Optoelectronics
Strong background in
photonics simulation and modelling
Strong knowledge of
Lumerical
Experience with
Zemax
would be highly preferred
Familiarity with other
CAE tools
would be considered a plus
Strong customer focus, with excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to share knowledge
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
Curious, innovative, and solution-driven mindset
Availability to travel mainly within
Italy
for customer support and client meetings
Fluency in
English
