Contractor Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Italy/Germany Territory
Haematology / Oncology – Phase 3 Clinical Trial Support
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced contractor Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support a multinational Phase 3 haematology/oncology clinical trial across Italy and Germany. This field-based role will focus on scientific engagement with investigators and treatment centres, supporting trial awareness, operational engagement, and high-quality scientific exchange within a compliant framework.
The successful candidate will work independently across a geographically distributed territory and act as a key scientific interface between the company and external stakeholders.
Territory Coverage
Primary territories:
- Italy
- Germany
Travel within the assigned territory and attendance at relevant scientific meetings/congresses will be required.
Time in Field
Approximately 70–80% field-focused activity expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scientific relationships with investigators, referral centres, and relevant healthcare professionals
- Support scientific engagement around an ongoing Phase 3 haematology clinical trial
- Deliver high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange in compliance with applicable regulations and company SOPs
- Support trial awareness and operational engagement activities within assigned territories
- Identify and communicate field insights, including recruitment challenges, treatment landscape developments, and investigator feedback
- Support congress activities, investigator meetings, and scientific discussions as required
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of activities and reporting of adverse events/product complaints in accordance with pharmacovigilance requirements
- Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, and other internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific or healthcare degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MSc or equivalent)
- Prior experience as a field-based MSL within oncology or haematology
- Strong scientific acumen and ability to communicate complex clinical data effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work independently across a multi-site territory
- Experience developing relationships with academic investigators and healthcare professionals
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within GCP, pharmacovigilance, and compliance frameworks
- Experience within Italy and/or Germany is essential
Strongly Preferred
- Italian language proficiency strongly preferred
- Prior experience in haematology and/or rare cancers
- Experience supporting Phase 2 or Phase 3 clinical trials
- Experience supporting recruitment or referral engagement activities for clinical trials
- Existing relationships within relevant haematology treatment centres
- Experience working in multinational European territories
