The Role
As AI Lead, you will be Artemest's first dedicated AI enabler: building production‑ready tools for our internal team, training employees on how to better use commercial AI tools and collaborating with the broader technology team on foundational product features that leverage AI. You will work directly with the CDO, collaborating closely with product, development, and internal teams to identify, prioritise, and execute the highest‑leverage AI opportunities. This is a hands‑on role that helps build a move‑fast culture within the organization, enabling individual contributors to get better access to insights, develop new ideas and execute faster. The role requires a technical mindset and ability to spot growth and efficiency opportunities: you will help understand how to make work more streamlined. Technical ability and operational acumen are equally important. The position will be based in Milan / Bologna.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Become the AI expert the team can count on to streamline tasks or create new exciting deliverables
- Provide continued, structured training across the organization to improve the team’s AI proficiency
- Present relevant new features from commercially available AI tools to teams that can benefit from them
- Constantly listen and observe how teams operate to discover new opportunities to reduce repetitive work or increase output quality
Internal tooling & productivity
- Identify and eliminate friction across the business using AI: automate repetitive workflows in operations, buying, marketing, and customer service
- Build internal tools — agents, assistants, structured extraction pipelines — that allow non‑technical teammates to move faster without needing to prompt‑engineer from scratch
- Set up projects, shared skills, and MCP integrations to make AI accessible and consistent across the team
- Support teams in building insightful dashboards to monitor progress, starting from disparate data sources
- Establish lightweight evaluation frameworks so the team can measure quality and regression across all AI‑assisted workflows
Requisiti: Who are we looking for? Must-haves
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with LLMs and GenAI systems in production — not just demos
- Deep familiarity with the current AI stack: frontier APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), vector databases, retrieval‑augmented generation, and agent frameworks
- Experience designing and running evals
Nice to haves
- Experience in e‑commerce, marketplace, or DTC environments — ideally with a product catalog or search/discovery surface
- Familiarity with data warehousing or BI tooling (Cube, dbt, BigQuery) — Artemest runs analytics on a modern data stack
- Genuine appreciation for design, craftsmanship, or the Italian luxury sector. You'll be more effective if you care about the product
What Success Looks Lite
In your first 30 days, you'll have mapped the AI opportunity landscape across product and ops, understood the data and tech constraints, and shipped at least one internal automation that saves real time. By month three, you'll have a clear eval framework in place. The team will already be coming to you with ideas. By month six, you'll be the internal expert others look to, with a prioritised roadmap and measurable impact on conversion and operational efficiency.
