Application Management Specialist - Milano

EUR 45.000 - 65.000

We are seeking an experienced AMS Specialist / Consultant to support Application Management Services (AMS) within the IT division.

The successful candidate will ensure operational continuity, system stability, and ongoing optimisation of critical business applications, with a focus on ERP environments (SAP S/4HANA).

This role covers both pre- and post-go-live phases, combining strong application support expertise with continuous improvement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues (L2/L3 support)
  • Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues
  • Deliver corrective and evolutionary maintenance (changes, configurations, updates)
  • Support change management processes aligned to business needs
  • Proactively monitor system health and performance
  • Conduct regression testing and routine system checks
  • Ensure incidents and requests are handled within agreed SLAs
  • Track and maintain service KPIs
  • Work closely with development teams, Business Analysts, and key users
  • Support resolution of complex issues and manage enhancement requests
  • Provide support during SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare phases
  • Ensure smooth post-go-live stabilisation of SAP S/4HANA systems
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge base, and operational manuals
  • Produce incident logs, problem reports, and performance analysis

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–3 years (mid-level) or 5+ years (senior) in application support / AMS / IT consulting
  • Hands‑on experience in ERP environments (SAP or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of Procurement, Supply Chain, or Finance processes
  • Experience with application support and maintenance
  • Familiarity with coding or configuration in ERP ecosystems
  • Knowledge of ITIL / IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Release)
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery models
  • Understanding of Change Management methodologies (e.g. PROSCI)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL v4 Foundation
  • PMP, Prince2, or Agile/Scrum certifications
  • SAP Certified Application Associate (or equivalent)
