Job Title: Associate or Senior Editor Nature Water

Location: Shanghai, Beijing, or Milan (hybrid model)

Overview

We seek an editor with experience in water resources science. The supports Nature Water and may collaborate with other Nature Portfolio journals.

Responsibilities

• Handle original research papers and work closely with editor teams on manuscript selection and peer review.
• Make well-reasoned editorial decisions based on expert advice.
• Contribute to content and strategy at Nature Water and other journals as needed.
• Commission, edit content such as Reviews, or write editorials.
• Liaise with editors at other Nature Portfolio journals and international experts.
• Attend conferences and visit research institutions.

Qualifications

• A PhD (or equivalent) in a field related to water resources science.
• Additional research experience valuable but not required.
• Thorough understanding of recent trends and developments.
• Passion for science and breadth of interest in research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent English.
• Ability to read and assess novelty, context, and implications of research.
• Eager to travel, meet scientists worldwide, and engage in distribution.
• Editorial experience not required but encouraged for Senior Editor positions.
