About This Vacancy
The role will be responsible for the definition of the platform avionics architecture, requirements management, and support for integration, testing, and AIV/AIT activities across multiple satellite programs. The position requires a systemic HW/SW/FW vision, with a strong focus on scalability, platform reuse, and reliability in safety-critical contexts.
- Gathering stakeholder needs and translating them into system/subsystem requirements with acceptance criteria
- Defining and maintaining the avionics architecture (functional, logical, and physical) and resource budgets
- Defining the onboard logical architecture (functions, data flows, interfaces, operating modes)
- Managing the allocation and end-to-end traceability of requirements through to verification
- Defining and managing platform interfaces and those with satellite subsystems; drafting ICDs
- Supporting HW/SW/FPGA integration and planning testing activities
- Supporting system robustness activities (FMEA/FMECA, fault analysis, FDIR)
- Contributing to test plans, procedures, and reports; supporting laboratory activities and AIV/AIT processes
- Continuously improving processes, methods, and approaches for platform development
What We Expect From You
- Master's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
- 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering for avionics or complex safety-critical electronic systems
- Knowledge of avionics interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet; SpaceWire/MIL-STD-1553 as a plus)
- Familiarity with standards and structured processes (preferably ECSS; DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, or equivalents)
- Native Italian, fluent English
- Requirements management and traceability (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or similar)
- MBSE and modeling (SysML/UML, Cameo, Capella, MATLAB/Simulink)
- Configuration and collaboration tools (Git, Jira/Azure DevOps, Confluence/SharePoint)
- Support for testing and integration (Python, laboratory instrumentation)
