Casualty Senior Underwriter / Underwriter - Milan office Sompo has a unique opportunity for an experienced Casualty Senior Underwriter / Underwriter in our Milan office. Within our growing Italian Team, this role will work closely with the Head of Casualty Underwriting for Italy making a significant contribution to the growth and expansion of our Casualty portfolio in a dynamic and inclusive team that values collaboration, integrity and a commitment to excellence. What you’ll be doingEvaluate complex risk profiles and develop tailored insurance solutions, negotiating terms with brokers to achieve optimal outcomes. Independently manage a portfolio of Casualty contracts, analyzing underwriting information, and crafting offers with appropriate terms to achieve expected profitability. Position Sompo as a significant player in the Casualty market. Innovate and contribute to a forward-thinking underwriting strategy, utilizing data analytics and market insights to maintain a competitive edge. Establish and strengthen relationships with key brokers. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth. Support the development of Casualty products. Collaborate on projects within a growing and friendly team. Foster a culture of innovation by sharing ideas within the Continental Europe Casualty community.What You’ll BringExtensive professional experience in underwriting Casualty business. Proven track record in underwriting profitable businesses. Excellent networking and relationship-building skills with clients and brokers. Strong product knowledge and experience in multinational GL Programs and complex accounts. Analytical and critical thinking skills, with determination, discipline, and proactivity. Collaborative mindset with the ability to build and enhance strong internal and external relationships. Ability to make timely decision and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment. Eagerness to take action for personal development.
