The Role The Pre-Award Contract Manager reports to the Sales organization and is responsible for managing contractual negotiations with clients during the pre-award phase. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, QHSE, Risk Management & Insurance, and Procurement, the role ensures contracts are negotiated efficiently and aligned with the Company’s interests. Main Responsibilities Contract Negotiation & Review Lead the review and negotiation of client contracts during the pre-award phase, safeguarding the Company’s contractual and commercial interests; Identify, assess, and negotiate contractual risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies and balanced contractual solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders; Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and Insurance teams to ensure contractual, bonding, insurance, and liability requirements are adequately addressed prior to contract award; Prepare and manage contract mark-ups, counter-proposals, and alternative contractual solutions; Ensure contractual documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with agreed commercial terms prior to signature. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary point of contact for clients on contractual matters during the pre-award phase; Coordinate internal stakeholders to align contractual positions and ensure business requirements are reflected in contractual agreements; Support bid and approval processes by providing clear contractual and commercial risk assessments, collaborating with Legal and external advisors to resolve complex contractual issues and minimize the Company’s risk exposure. Key Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or Law; Minimum 8-10 years of Contract Management experience within Heavy Lifting, Construction, EPC, Energy, or Industrial Projects; Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts with clients, contractors, and subcontractors/partners; Strong knowledge of contractual risk management, claims, change orders, and commercial terms & conditions; Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; Commercial mindset with the ability to balance business objectives and contractual risk mitigation; Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
