As Data Center Chief Engineer, you lead electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety operations to keep AWS data centers running at peak efficiency. You’ll coordinate with onsite technicians and vendors, manage large-scale facility projects, and drive reliability while controlling costs. Your role is central to safety, incident response, and continuous improvement across the data‑center region. Oversee day‑to‑day mechanical and electrical operations and maintenance in data centers Assist design and build‑out of new facilities Serve as escalation point for facilities issues and support on‑call requirements Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures Troubleshoot facility and data center events within internal SLAs Create and deploy standard operating procedures for engineers and vendor teams Provide training and guidance to technicians and assist in recruiting Ensure safety procedures are followed by vendors and staff Utilize Change Management Systems to manage building workflows Provide weekly metric availability reporting Responsabilità

Electrical field qualifications with practical competencies (Practice & Theory) Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls) Ability to draft English documentation and issue tracking entries Ability to own and resolve technical issues Willingness to travel between data centers and internationally Solid IT skills, including MS Office Reading SLDs and control schematics Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments Valid driving license for onsite travel
