RINA is currently recruiting for anEnergy Management Engineerto join its office in Genova within theSustainability and Business InnovationDivision.Mission The Energy Management Optimization Engineer will lead and contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of energy optimization initiatives within RINA’s Sustainability and Business Innovation Division. The role operates within a group specializing in advanced energy management and optimization services for cities, buildings, and energy communities, combining engineering expertise with policy awareness and innovation management.Key AccountabilitiesEnergy consumption assessment in industrial, manufacturing, and urban contexts; energy modelling, scenario analysis, and techno‑economic evaluations; development of energy transition projects (EMS, smart districts, PEDs).Energy optimization, integration of renewables, and storage systems; design of flexibility services and demand response strategies; development and use of digital tools (digital twins, AI, forecasting models).Technology integration with existing systems (SCADA, Io T, data platforms).Participation in EU‑funded projects, pilots, and large‑scale initiatives; performance monitoring and continuous improvement through digital solutions; use of knowledge management and AI tools for reporting and analysis.EducationBachelor’s DegreeMaster’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Electrical EngineeringQualifications2–3 years of experience in energy assessments, energy efficiency projects, or sustainable energy solutions, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or district/urban environments.Demonstrated involvement in EU‑funded projects, pilots, or large‑scale energy demonstrations is an asset.Expertise in energy systems and energy modelling at building, district, and urban scale; energy optimisation techniques, including ML‑based approaches and decision‑support tools (digital twins, forecasting, optimisation algorithms); renewables, energy grid optimisation, waste heat recovery, and demand response / flexibility services; control systems and EMS/SCADA/Io T integration for buildings, industrial environments, and districts; standards and interoperability frameworks (IEC, ISO) relevant to energy management and smart grids; generative AI tools and their practical applications in engineering, data analysis, and documentation; demonstrated proactive approach to adopting emerging AI methodologies in industrial and energy petenciesWORKPLACE DYNAMICS – Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently.PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT – Ownership for life, work and results, striving to grow professionally and personally.INTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE – Skills and strategies we use to interact effectively with others.DOMAIN & BUSINESS ACUMEN – Applying a scientific approach and critical thinking in operations and solution development within area of expertise.FORESIGHT & INSIGHT – Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making.At RINA, we endeavor to create a work environment where every single person is valued and encouraged to develop new ideas.
