Founded by a pioneer in data center REITs, Cloud HQ delivers flexible, efficient, and resilient data center solutions that empower the world’s largest technology companies As we continue to expand our EMEA portfolio, we are seeking an Infrastructure Manager, EMEA to lead and coordinate the technical development and operational readiness of our data center infrastructure, with a strong focus on power management, electrical distribution systems, and utility coordination. Role Overview: The Infrastructure Manager, EMEA is responsible for managing the delivery, and performance of Cloud HQ’s Utility infrastructure across multiple hyperscale data center projects in the region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power systems engineering, data center design, and utility infrastructure coordination, as well as experience working with cross-functional project and operations teams in a fast-paced, global environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead infrastructure planning and technical delivery for hyperscale data center developments across EMEA. Oversee all aspects of power infrastructure - from utility interconnection and substation design to onsite electrical distribution and backup systems. Coordinate with utilities and grid operators to secure power capacity and manage interconnection processes. Work closely with engineering design consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure technical and commercial alignment. Develop and maintain regional infrastructure standards, specifications, and commission protocols. Evaluate design proposals and value-engineering options for efficiency, reliability, and cost optimization. Manage and track infrastructure budgets, schedules, and performance KPIs across multiple concurrent projects. Support operational readiness by ensuring seamless transition from construction to commissioning and turnover to data center operations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Project Management, Energy, Operations, Finance, and Legal) to ensure alignment with business goals and delivery timelines. Serve as a subject matter expert for power systems, UPS, MV/LV distribution, generators, and monitoring systems (SCADA/BMS/EMS). Stay current with regional regulations, permitting requirements, and sustainability initiatives related to power and infrastructure. Required Experience & Qualifications: ~ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred, relevant project management experience in delivery of large-scale utility infrastructure also acceptable. ~8+ years of experience in data center infrastructure, power systems, or mission-critical facility management. ~ Strong understanding of high-voltage and medium-voltage systems, substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, and cooling systems. ~ Proven experience working with utilities on grid interconnection, permitting, and capacity planning. ~ Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-site projects from concept through commissioning. ~ Familiarity with design standards and best practices (e.g., Uptime Institute, IEC, ISO, EN, or local codes). ~ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences. ~ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on reliability and operational excellence. ~ Fluent in English; additional fluency in German and/or French highly desirable. ~ Willingness to travel across the EMEA region as required.
