About The Team
The Finance Operations team is responsible for keeping merchant and partner accounts healthy across SumUp's global markets, a function that directly supports the millions of small businesses we serve every day.
Junior Credit Management Analyst
Milan, Italy | Office‑first setup
As a Junior Credit Management Specialist, you'll sit right at the intersection of finance, client communication and cross‑functional collaboration, making sure billing and payments run smoothly and that our clients feel heard.
What you'll do
- Handle incoming requests from Sales, CSM, and recovery agencies, making sure billing and payment matters are resolved accurately and on time.
- Monitor outstanding accounts, track overdue debt, and keep collection records up to date.
- Investigate billing history, resolve credit issues, and process payments or refunds with care and precision.
- Reach out to clients proactively about overdue balances, building constructive conversations that support timely resolution.
- Collaborate with internal teams to untangle billing challenges and contribute to a smooth client experience.
- Prepare clear, regular reports on collection activity and accounts receivable status.
You’ll be great for this role if
- Fluency in Italian (C1/C2) is essential; proficiency in English, Spanish or French is a welcome plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with patience and clarity.
- Comfort navigating billing processes, financial records, or client account management, whether through study or hands‑on experience.
- Familiarity with tools such as MS Office, Salesforce, or Stripe is beneficial but not essential; what matters most is the willingness to learn.
- A methodical, problem‑solving mindset with a genuine curiosity for how financial systems work.
