Junior Technical Architect / Building Engineer

Design From Anywhere, Impact Everywhere! Associated Architects is looking for a

motivated junior technical architect, building engineer, or construction-focused architectural designer

to collaborate with our architectural and engineering office on high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use projects in the Caribbean. This is a mainly remote position, allowing you to work from your own location while coordinating digitally with our design team. Occasional visits to our office or project sites in the Caribbean may be possible depending on the project. We are looking for fresh talent with strong AutoCAD skills, good technical curiosity, and enough practical experience to work on

architectural final design and construction documentation . The right candidate must already understand how buildings are put together and be able to prepare clear architectural drawings, construction details, sections, elevations, and schedules, while growing within an experienced design team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow fast, work on international projects, and gain experience in a Caribbean context where design must respond to climate, wind resistance, construction practicality, material selection, and high-quality architecture. We are also interested in candidates who are comfortable using digital tools and AI systems to improve workflow, check consistency, research technical solutions, and verify outputs. Responsibilities The selected candidate will be involved in: Working on architectural final design drawings Preparing construction details, wall sections, plans, elevations, and schedules Preparing permit and construction documentation Coordinating architectural drawings with structural and MEP information Developing technical architectural solutions from design intent to buildable documentation Reviewing and integrating materials, construction systems, and building components Producing clear AutoCAD drawing sets Using AI and digital tools to support drafting, technical research, coordination, consistency checks, and output verification Coordinating remotely through digital files, online meetings, and shared project folders Preparing or contributing to 3D models, renderings, and architectural presentations when required

Required

Degree in architecture, building engineering, civil/building engineering, or equivalent training Excellent AutoCAD skills Good written and spoken English and Italian Some experience preparing architectural drawings and construction details Good understanding of basic building construction and technical documentation Ability to work independently, ask the right questions, and coordinate remotely Interest in high-end architectural design and international project work Openness to using AI systems and digital tools to support and verify professional work Preferred

2–5 years of professional experience Experience with final design or construction documentation Experience with residential, hospitality, commercial, or mixed-use projects Ability to coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants 3D modeling ability Familiarity with SketchUp, Twinmotion, or similar visualization tools Interest in tropical, coastal, or wind-exposed buildings
