Responsibilities
Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) is a leading European investment bank delivering high value-added financial solutions through strong local coverage and global expertise.
The M&A Director is responsible for originating, leading, and executing complex M&A and Private Equity-related transactions across both buy-side and sell-side mandates.
The role requires full accountability for transaction delivery, senior client relationship management, and the strategic positioning of SG CIB in competitive advisory situations, in Italy and on cross-border transactions.
The Director will advise corporates and private equity sponsors on strategic opportunities and play a visible role in franchise development.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Originate and execute M&A and Private Equity-related transactions across buy side and sell side mandates
- Advise clients on strategic transactions, investments, and divestments
- Lead marketing activities, pitches, and client engagement
- Manage transaction execution, including due diligence, financial analysis, valuation, and negotiation
- Coordinate internal teams and supervise junior bankers
- Actively integrate ESG considerations into origination strategy and client advisory
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, risk, and conduct standards
Profile required Studies & experience
- Degree from a leading Business School or University
- Demonstrated track record in originating and executing M&A transactions involving corporates and private equity sponsors
- Strong expertise in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking products
Language skills
- Italian: C2
- English: C1
Technical, operational & Soft skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial databases
- Excellent communication, advisory, and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of financial, operational, and compliance risks
