Manager, Social & Community

About the role

Location: USA (remote, with travel key markets)

Type: Full‑time

Compensation: $88,000 – $108,000 base salary

You're WeRoad on the screen: the voice and the face of how we show up online. You own organic social, creators, and email. This always‑on layer builds an audience, earns attention, and turns followers into WeRoaders. This is content and community first, marketing ops second. You should love writing a post worth screenshotting as much as reading the report that tells you it landed.

What you'll own

  • Organic social, end‑to‑end: plan, write, produce, and publish across the US social channels (Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook Group). You own the calendar, the posting, the replies, the DMs, and the comment section. Community management is the job, not an afterthought.
  • Creator & influencer campaigns: source, brief, and run influencer and creator partnerships — from content collabs to hosting trips for their followers — and measure them on engagement and converted passengers.
  • Lifecycle & community email: own lifecycle and community email (newsletters, nurture flows, post‑trip and re‑engagement) with real segmentation by audience, behavior, and trip interest. This is the pre‑purchase and retention side of email.
  • Creative & cultural relevance: spot trends, formats, and moments early and move fast because reactive content is part of the rhythm.
  • Group Leader community: keep our US Group Leaders — the heart of the WeRoad flywheel — connected and energized. Own the GL channels (WhatsApp, Facebook group, and the like), surface their stories and trips, and turn an engaged GL cohort into our most authentic content and word‑of‑mouth engine.
  • Reporting & segmentation: close the loop on everything you ship — audience growth, engagement rate, email performance by segment, creator ROI — and update the team regularly. You should have a strong point of view on what to do more of and what to cut.
  • Be the face of WeRoad socials: comfortable and confident on camera, front and produce engaging content (Reels, TikToks, stories, live formats) that brings the brand's voice and personality to life across our social channels.

What you'll be measured on

  • Engaged US audience growth across channels (followers and, more importantly, engagement).
  • Email performance by segment — open, click, and contribution to PAX from owned lists.
  • Creator/influencer ROI measured to downstream bookings, not impressions.
  • Share of bookings influenced by organic and owned channels over time.

What you bring

  • 3+ years running organic social and community for a consumer brand people actually care about — ideally one with a distinct, non‑corporate voice.
  • You're a genuinely good writer with taste. You can be funny without being cringe and on‑brand without being safe.
  • A natural on‑screen presence and a love for storytelling, paired with an instinct for what makes content resonate. You stay on top of platform trends and formats, and you're not afraid to put yourself out there to build genuine connection with the WeRoad online community.
  • Hands‑on email marketing experience: building segments, writing flows, and reading the numbers.
  • Experience briefing and managing creators/influencers and judging them on outcomes.
  • Comfort with analytics — you instrument what you ship and report honestly, including when something flops.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Nice to have

  • You've grown a US audience from scratch before.
  • Short‑form video editing and a feel for TikTok‑native formats.
  • Travel, lifestyle, or experience‑brand background.
  • A note on our audience: US search intent skews female while early US bookings skew male. We want someone who can read that gap and build content and creator strategy that closes it — call it out in your application if you have a view.

What we offer

  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Health & Dental insurance
  • $1,400/year travel discount in our WeRoad trips!
  • Trust‑based holidays – Performance over hours. We recommend 4 weeks per year.
  • New parent support – $3,600/year gross for 3 years after birth or adoption (prorated if your child is under 3 when you join).
  • Performance‑based bonus – Discretionary, based on your results and company performance.
  • Extra benefits – $1,000 wedding bonus, one‑off bonus at 5 years, and ongoing learning opportunities.
