Experteer Overview

As Infrastructure Architect at ING, you will define and evolve the infrastructure architecture of the bank’s information system, guiding architecture principles and standards. You will implement reference infrastructure aligned with strategic direction and collaborate across IT communities to meet business and security requirements. You’ll drive simplification, reduce technical debt, and shorten time-to-market while safeguarding data integrity. This role offers the chance to shape global standards, mentor teams, and partner with business lines on innovation in a large, international bank.

• Evangelize architecture principles, policies, and reference architectures across the organization
• Implement the reference infrastructure architecture following the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect’s direction
• Coordinate with Head Office and ING Group IT architecture community on common systems and requirements
• Design architectures to meet business and IT needs and collaborate with development teams during SDLC for architecture reviews
• Ensure architecture is implemented according to plan, minimizing technical debt and escalating when needed
• Reduce complexity and steer toward lowering technical debt while improving platform quality and time-to-market
• Guard security and data integrity in design, implementation, and operation using industry standards
• Define global standards in collaboration with other architects, engineers, IT leads, etc.
• Guide engineers and teams by documenting design patterns and best practices in cookbooks, and show practical implementation
• Collaborate with business lines to promote architectural awareness and technological innovation
• Work with IT operations on problem management requiring architectural analysis
• Interact with IT departments, global IT community, banks, consultants and suppliers
