Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize Thin Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) manufacturing processes according to R&D and product development requirements, with particular focus on thin film deposition, vacuum technologies, and dry/plasma etching.
  • Lead process industrialization activities and support the transfer of developed processes from R&D into manufacturing, both internally and at qualified external foundry partners.
  • Act as technical interface between internal teams and external manufacturing partners, ensuring process specifications, performance targets, and quality requirements are correctly implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor process performance across internal and external production sites, identifying opportunities for yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization.
  • Investigate process and product issues through structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions, coordinating activities with production engineering, quality, and external partners.
  • Establish and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and process monitoring systems to improve process capability, yield, and manufacturing robustness.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineering, maintenance teams, and external suppliers on process-related equipment upgrades, qualification, and calibration activities.
  • Work closely with EHS representatives to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure process documentation, specifications, work instructions, qualification reports, and change management records are properly maintained and controlled.
  • Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to manufacturing personnel and external partners when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related disciplines
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor, MEMS, nanotechnology, or advanced manufacturing environments (experience level may be adjusted according to organizational needs)
  • Experience with thin film deposition, vacuum processes, plasma processing, dry etching, or related wafer fabrication technologies
  • Experience in process development, process qualification, and manufacturing industrialization
  • Experience supporting technology transfer, subcontract manufacturing, foundry operations, or supplier qualification is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control, process capability analysis, DOE, FMEA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data and drive data-based decision making
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams and external organizations
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Availability for international travel to customer, supplier, and foundry sites
  • Knowledge of statistical software, data analysis tools, Python, LabVIEW, JMP, Minitab, or similar tools is considered a plus
  • Annual salary: depending on experience and seniority € 35,000 - € 45,000
