Project Assistant – Research and Innovation Programs

The Foundation "Italian Center for the Design of Semiconductor Integrated Circuits", also known as the Chips-IT Foundation, is a nonprofit research and technology organization under the supervision of the Ministries of Industry. It is Italy's first RTO (Research and Technology Organization) focused on semiconductor research and serves as a center of excellence in frontier research on semiconductor design, and a pivotal center of the Italian semiconductor ecosystem and expertise.

Position

Fondazione Chips-IT is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Project Assistant to support the coordination and execution of research, training and innovation activities within national and international projects. This role involves day‑to‑day management of project tasks, reporting activities, and communication processes. Depending on experience, responsibilities may range from administrative support to advanced project coordination tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project management activities.
• Assist in tracking tasks and project deliverables.
• Draft project reports and documentation.
• Support communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the organisation of meetings, workshops and training activities.
• Maintain project records and ensure effective information flow.
• Support the preparation of presentations and status updates.
• Assist in monitoring project schedules and follow‑up actions.
• Collaborate with project managers in the execution of daily operational activities.

Desired Profile

• Bachelor's degree (or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program) in any discipline.
• Strong interest in project management.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Language Requirements

• English proficiency at B2 level or above is a minimum requirement.
• C1 level or higher is considered a strong advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Electronics, Physics or related disciplines.
• Previous experience with project coordination, reporting or administrative activities is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and collaborative platforms.
• Interest in pursuing a career in project management.

• Tax deductions: Candidates from abroad, comprising Italian citizens, who have carried scientific research activity abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a taxable income deduction up to 90% for a period of 6 to 13 years.
• In conformità con le normative vigenti, il range retributivo lordo annuo previsto per questa posizione è compreso tra Euro 25.000,00 e 30.000,00. L'ampiezza del range è finalizzata a valutare candidature con diversi livelli di seniority; l'offerta finale sarà strettamente commisurata all'effettiva esperienza e alle competenze del candidato, e sarà integrata dai benefit aziendali previsti per il ruolo. Si valutano anche contratti stage.
• In accordance with applicable regulations, the gross annual salary range for this position is between €25,000 and €30,000. The breadth of this range reflects our intention to consider candidates with different levels of seniority; the final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s actual experience and qualifications and will be complemented by the benefits package associated with the role.
