Rates Trader - European Government Bonds Vice President

Location: Milan, IT

Overview

You will join the Global Markets area within the European Government Bonds Trading Desk based in Milan. You will contribute to the development of the trading platform across Core and Semi‑Core sovereign bonds, supporting market making activities and the growth of the desk’s franchise in European rates markets.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform market making activities on Core and Semi‑Core European Government Bonds
  • Provide competitive pricing and liquidity to clients
  • Manage risk exposure and inventory within defined limits
  • Identify trading opportunities through market and relative value analysis
  • Collaborate with Sales, Research and Trading teams to support business growth

Who we are looking for

  • 6–8 years of experience required in Rates Trading
  • Knowledge of European government bond markets and interest rate products
  • Pricing and risk management capabilities
  • Use of trading and risk management platforms
  • Understanding of macroeconomic rate drivers
  • Degree in finance, economics or quantitative field
  • English level B2 or above

Preferred skills: Murex, ION, Broadway, Python or VBA
