ARESYS is an Italian SME providing innovative satellite-based sensing solutions to the Space and Defense markets.

ARESYS offers a 20+ years of expertise in designing and developing on-board and on-ground systems with a vertical specialization in microwawe ( Radar, SAR) and Optical technologies.

We are looking for a SAR Algorithms Scientist , to join our team working on advanced SAR
processing for Earth Observation.

In this role, you will bridge electromagnetic theory and real-world applications, contributing to the development of signal processing methods and working with real datasets from state-ofthe-art satellite missions.

This position is open to motivated graduates with a strong scientific background as well as
early-career professionals with experience in scientific or engineering fields.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Algorithm Engineering: Contribute to the research, development and validation of processing
    algorithms (SAR, InSAR, Tomography, Polarimetry)
  • Data Science for Space: Analyse real SAR satellite data for scientific applications and
    geophysical retrieval
  • Collaborative R&D: Work alongside with internal teams, scientific partners and space agencies
    on research and development projects
  • Scientific Outreach: Contribute to high-quality technical documentation and scientific
    publications

Required skills:

  • Programming skills in Python (preferred), Matlab or C/C++
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good command of English
  • Familiarity with Radar, signal processing or remote sensing
  • Participation in scientific R&D projects
  • Experience with Earth Observation data or satellite missions (e.g., ESA)
  • Familiarity with SAR-related topics (e.g., InSAR, PolSAR, or academic projects)

Your background:

  • MSc or PhD in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
