For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Senior ART & Parametrics Underwriter to join our Alternative Risk Transfer and Parametrics team. The person will report directly to the Global Head of GC&C ART & Parametrics. In this role, the person will act as a Senior ART & Parametrics Underwriter, leading the analysis, validation, and structuring of ART & Parametrics solutions globally. The focus will be on translating complex climate and natural hazard risks into robust, data-driven parametric structures, ensuring technical excellence, pricing adequacy, and portfolio scalability. The person will play a key role in advancing GC&C’s ART & Parametrics business, combining deep analytical expertise, modelling capabilities, and commercial acumen to deliver innovative solutions for corporate and public sector clients. Main responsibilities Cat Modelling & Parametric Underwriting Lead advanced catastrophe modelling analysis (e.g. Earthquake, windstorm, flood, wildfire) to support parametric underwriting decisions Validate, challenge, and enhance hazard data, event sets, and pricing models, ensuring robustness and consistency Translate model outputs into effective parametric trigger structures (index selection, thresholds, payout curves) Assess basis risk, exposure aggregation, and model limitations to ensure sound underwriting decisions Drive continuous improvement in modelling approaches, data sources, and analytical frameworks Parametric Solution Structuring Design and structure bespoke parametric solutions tailored to client exposures and resilience objectives Ensure strong alignment between risk analysis, pricing, and product design Integrate parametric solutions within broader ART and capital solutions structures where relevant Maintain underwriting discipline, ensuring profitability and adherence to Generali risk appetite Client & Broker Engagement Support origination and business development by positioning parametric solutions in strategic dialogues Lead technical discussions, workshops, and presentations with clients and partners Contribute to the development of new parametric products, perils, and geographies Drive innovation in data usage, modelling techniques, and trigger design Collaborate closely with data scientists, actuaries, and IT on analytics, automation, and platform development Support the positioning of ART & Parametrics insurance within GC&C ART & Capital Solutions Collaborate on solutions combining parametric triggers and alternative capital Monitor ILS market developments to enhance structuring capabilities Lead complex projects from analysis and structuring to execution Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, legal, claims, IT) Mentor junior team members and contribute to team capability building Drive continuous improvement in underwriting tools and processes Requirements Qualifications & Experience 7 –10 years of experience in catastrophe modelling and nat cat risk analytics Ability to translate technical outputs into commercial solutions Experience working in international and cross-functional environments Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus (e.g. Italian) Availability to travel internationally Technical Expertise Solid expertise in catastrophe modelling required Event set analysis and loss modelling Exposure and accumulation analysis Experience with cat modelling tools and/or custom modelling frameworks Business & Leadership Skills Good communication skills, with ability to engage at senior client level Experience in project leadership in international and cross-functional environments High ownership, initiative, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, innovative environment What we offer The position will be offered at Job Level 7, under the terms of the ANIA National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL ANIA) for non-executive employees and the Generali Group Company Collective Agreement. The starting gross annual salary will range between €65,000 and €75,000. The final compensation package will be determined in line with the candidate’s professional experience and the technical and soft skills relevant to the role, and may also include an individual variable compensation component.
