Overview
In this role you drive the commercial ownership and optimization of flexible assets in Southern Europe, shaping how flexibility is monetised across markets. You work at the intersection of analytics, trading and portfolio management within a high‑performing, international team. You build and refine models and trading frameworks while keeping risk and PnL impact in focus. You contribute to a broader energy‑transition mission by unlocking value from renewable and flexible portfolios in Europe.
Responsibilities
Develop and improve automated trading and optimisation algorithms for flexible assets.
Extend, adapt and localise optimisation and trading frameworks for Southern European wholesale power and ancillary services markets.
Communicate complex analytical outputs to stakeholders across the organisation.
Continuously challenge model assumptions, data quality and market representations based on observed fundamentals and market behaviour.
Act as a sparring partner to traders, originators and portfolio managers.
Contribute to the improvement of our algorithmic trading and monitoring systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Business with strong quantitative focus.
Proven experience developing analytical, optimisation or trading models in a commercial environment.
Strong coding quality, preferably Python.
Experience in Italy wholesale and ancillary services power market, ideally in optimizing and trading.
Ability to solve analytical problems under time pressure and navigate uncertainty.
Proactive and independent way of working, high reliability, strong communication skills.
Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
