Your role
We are looking for a Manager of Signal Processing to lead and evolve our signal processing organization for next many generations of Nuance hearing glasses. This role is responsible for both classical DSP and AI‑driven audio processing, combining deep technical leadership with organizational development. Together with your teams, you will shape the algorithm roadmap, team structure, and development processes. Ensuring scalable, high‑performance solutions tightly integrated with embedded firmware and product architecture. The role operates across multiple sites and works closely with firmware, product and project management, audiology, and systems architecture teams.
The role reports to head of R&D Hearing solutions, a team in the global R&D and Wearables category that focuses on the Nuance hearing glasses. Role is part of the Hearing solution leadership team.
Main responsibilities
Lead and grow classical DSP and AI‑based signal processing teams, with today approx. 20 people
Define team structure, roles, and ownership
Own the signal processing strategy across classical DSP and AI‑based audio processing
Help evolve audio prototyping, verification and testing tools roadmap
Drive integration into embedded platforms and collaborate with firmware teams
Architecture & System Integration: Drive process to ensure stable signal processing architecture supporting product and feature roadmap. Contribute to system‑level design decision.
Grow a global team and foster cross‑team collaboration.
Establish scalable processes for development, validation, and deployment.
Embody a culture of driving simplification and fast decisions.
Work closely with Project management, Product Management, Audiology, Hardware and Firmware teams.
Main requirements
MSc or PhD in Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
8–12+ years of experience in embedded audio signal processing or related domain
Proven leadership experience managing and growing technical teams
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Structured and pragmatic mindset
Able to balance short‑term deliverables and the long‑term view
Strong systems thinking and outstanding signal processing knowledge
Clear and transparent communicator across teams, borders and stakeholders
Pace‑setting
Experience in hearing aids or medical devices is a nice to have
Have experience of leading leaders is a nice to have
