Overview
In this role, you will manage day-to-day trucking operations and multi-modal flows to support Samskip’s international logistics network. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring timely service delivery and efficient resource use. You’ll optimize truck planning based on haulier availability and collaborate with Customer Service to maintain quality. This position offers growth, hands‑on problem solving, and a chance to shape operations in a vibrant, global environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee daily trucking operations to ensure smooth execution
- Optimize truck planning based on hauliers' availability to maximize resource efficiency
- Drive transportation cost optimization with a focus on round-trip efficiency
- Collaborate with Customer Service to maintain high service quality
- Manage day-to-day operations to optimize equipment flows across road and rail networks
- Monitor and control operational and administrative costs and escalate critical issues when needed
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of work experience
- Italian and English proficiency
- Hands‑on mentality and proactive mindset
- Accuracy and independence in execution
- Strong communication skills for coordination with planners, drivers, and colleagues
- Motivated interest in logistics (experience not strictly required)
- Ability to plan and oversee trucking operations and manage multi-modal flows
