Our Engineering Department is looking for a Group Manager for Cartridge Valves to lead the design and coordination of our next generation of hydraulic solutions. As a Group Manager, you will bridge the gap between technical excellence and strategic project management, ensuring our mechanical, electrical, and proportional valves meet the highest standards of performance and cost-efficiency. You will work at the heart of our international network, collaborating with our teams in Italy, the US, China, and India.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead the execution and coordination of the development of components and complete Cartridge Valves across various functions (mechanical, electrical, and proportional).
  • Define and coordinate comprehensive validation testing plans and functional protocols.
  • Guide the team in making critical technical decisions regarding functional performance, dimensions, weight, and cost (Design to Cost).
Project Management & Concept Design
  • Create innovative design concepts for new components and valves, aligning with interdisciplinary teams (Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality).
  • Manage the full development project lifecycle—from project kick-off to technical release—establishing project plans, setting priorities, and aligning targets across departments.
  • Evaluate concepts, release official drawings, and execute final validation.
Global Operations & Process Optimization
  • Support the Purchasing department in the selection and technical validation of global suppliers.
  • Partner with Manufacturing to drive production optimization and localization projects within the global production network.
  • Drive the creation and update of engineering processes and guidelines to enhance efficiency within the local and global organization.
Leadership & Mindset
  • Team Empowerment: Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a technical team.
  • Proactive & Result-Oriented: A self-starter mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions within deadlines.
  • Customer Facing: The personality and professional standing to represent Engineering in direct communication with customers (requirements alignment, new projects, and claims support).
Technical Background
  • Extensive experience in Cartridge (or Hydraulic) Valve Design with the ability to provide content-based guidance and lead technical decision-making.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Experience working closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality in a cross-functional environment.
  • International Experience: Comfortable working within a global development structure (collaborating with Lead Engineering in Italy/US and regional support in China/India).
  • CAD Software: Advanced proficiency in CREO.
  • Simulation: Experience in Solenoid Simulation (e.g., Maxwell).
  • Project Management: Skilled in MS Project or equivalent PM tools.
  • Quality Methods: Expert user of FMEA, DRBFM, 8D, and Benchmarking.
  • Office Suite: Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Language Skills
  • English: Fluent (written and spoken) for daily international collaboration.
