ABOUT THE ROLE
To strengthen our R&D Department, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Mechanical Engineer – Plastic Components
who will focus on the design and development of plastic parts and assemblies.
In this role, you will contribute across the full product development lifecycle—from concept to production—working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Production Engineering, Product Certification, and Service.
You will play a key role in ensuring that plastic components meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on plastic parts
Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, and cost requirements
Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools
Manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and related data within the PLM system
Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities
Select suitable plastic materials and define appropriate manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding)
Ensure compliance with product certification standards and quality requirements
Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the development process
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize design and industrialization
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Previous experience in mechanical design, with exposure to plastic components (entry-level profiles also considered)
Good knowledge of 3D CAD tools (preferably PTC Creo)
Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill is a plus)
Understanding of plastic materials and manufacturing processes, especially injection molding
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good organizational and multitasking abilities
Proactive, structured, and team-oriented mindset
