Financial Accountant – Sulbiate Permanent position reporting to the Financial Controller. This role will act as the primary finance contact for the Italian entity, ensuring accurate financial reporting and full compliance with local statutory, tax, and payroll requirements. It is a standalone role onsite, working closely with the Group Finance team in Ireland and external local advisors. The role supports the launch and operation of our new distribution centre in Italy.Key ResponsibilitiesAccount for the Italian entity’s accounting and compliance, including preparation of monthly accounts, KPIs and variance analysisPrepare financial reports and reporting packages for Group HQSupport budgeting and forecasting activitiesEnsure compliance with Italian statutory, legal, tax, and payroll requirementsCoordinate with external providers (tax advisors, lawyers, payroll advisors) and review their outputsMaintain accounting records and oversee local regulatory requirementsMonitor cash flow and working capitalAct as local finance liaison and point of contact with Group FinanceSupport implementation and improvement of finance processes and ERP systemsRequirementsDegree in Finance, Accounting, or EconomicsMinimum 3 years’ experience in a financial accounting roleStrong knowledge of Italian accounting, tax, and payroll regulationsAbility to work independently and manage local compliance topicsExperience with monthly close and financial reportingGood command of English (minimum B2)Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) – Dottore CommercialistaNice to HaveExperience in a distribution or industrial environmentExperience working with external advisorsERP systems experienceApplicants must have a right to live and work in the relevant jurisdiction.Portwest is an equal opportunity employer.
