Senior Software Engineer (Streaming/Data-Intensive Systems)

With a growing presence across 15 offices worldwide, the Data Infrastructure team collects several billion events per day and queries hundreds of terabytes in real time. We are hiring for mid‑level and senior Data Engineers to help design and build the next generation of our data architecture, powering real‑time insights at massive scale.

• Lead large‑scale projects that involve complex systems with leading‑edge technologies.
• Think of smart data formats and ways of exchanging information to serve product functionality while minimizing cost and increasing performance.
• Design efficient, data‑intensive backend services to collect, process, and store petabytes of data, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and system behavior under load.
• Investigate, debug, and optimize system behavior across CPU, memory, I/O, and concurrency dimensions as data volumes grow.
• Redesign and unify multiple inherited data pipelines, driving transition to a streamlined, harmonized data architecture.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure data solutions align with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Share knowledge and increase the team’s expertise by introducing new ideas and mentoring fellow engineers.

• 6+ years of experience as a mid‑level or senior engineer with strong fundamentals in computer science and software engineering (data structures, concurrency, memory management, and performance).
• Proven experience with dynamic complex systems in a rich ecosystem with many integrations.
• Hands‑on experience tackling large‑scale, high‑volume systems and understanding trade‑offs required to scale reliably.
• Strong focus on production quality, including testing, monitoring, logging, and observability, and an understanding of their importance in data‑intensive systems.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure, and comfort writing infrastructure as code.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, both onsite and asynchronously with people worldwide.
• Capacity to thrive in a flat team structure, actively contributing to solving technical challenges alongside peers.
• Proactive, idea‑rich, with a constructive and positive attitude toward thoughtful input.

• Proficiency in Go and/or Scala.
• Experience with ClickHouse and/or SingleStore.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience using Kafka.
