In this role you will contribute to the maintenance and performance of railway vehicles, using RAM data and field diagnostics to optimize maintenance strategies. You will work within a global, innovative Hitachi Rail environment that values digital transformation and customer-focused delivery. You will collaborate across systems, engineering, and operations to ensure safe, reliable train operations. This is a hands‑on position with opportunities to influence how maintenance plans are executed at depot and field sites. You will engage with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and asset performance.
Assure RAM data collection and traceability according to contractual requirements
Manage vehicle configuration changes and maintain the as-maintained configuration with System Support Engineering
Operate infrastructure-based systems (MRX, PanMon, Gotcha) to monitor and respond to maintenance alerts and support condition-based maintenance
Provide performance analysis and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders regarding IT systems
Support bid and proposal activities including budget definition for new initiatives
Update spare part lists and RAM analyses to align with maintenance plans and service operation experience
Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to optimize corrective maintenance and feed feedback to design and standards teams
Support maintenance operations, troubleshooting, and action tracking according to System Support Engineering guidance
Prepare technical specifications for depot tools, coordinate with suppliers, and oversee installation and commissioning
Provide training to team members or customers as needed
Perform failure analysis for extrawarranty and manage supplier warranties
Validate and propose upgrades to Maintenance Manual
Drive continuous improvement of maintenance activities through tool design and process enhancements
Apply knowledge of vehicle remote diagnostics and data validation
Report maintenance, safety defects, and operational events
Present RAM data and operating data to customers
Develop technical documentation for workshop maintenance operations
Ensure maintenance plans are implemented at depot and external sites throughout commissioning
Support project teams with on-field analyses and engineering procedures development
Optimize maintenance regimes and support future contracts with Operations and Maintenance teams
Assist Procurement and Operations in supplier assessments and approvals
Minimum 3 years railway vehicles maintenance engineering experience
Experience in maintenance plan optimization, complex troubleshooting, and RAMS analysis
Ability to diagnose vehicle systems and interpret contract specifications
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and pneumatic plans
Willingness to travel frequently (more than 60%)
