Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Software Architect and Full Stack Developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. Responsible of the design of complex and innovative systems to support the train maintenance.

The position is based in Naples, Italy.

Accountabilities

- Definition of both functional and no-functional requirements

- Definition of the SW architecture

- Full stack developer of web-based solutions, developed according to the high-configurable, scalable, high-availability and cyber security principles.

- Definition and sizing of the HW architecture for central servers (e.g. on premises/cloud/hybrid).

- Definition of the network and communications design in terms of protocols and security appliance in accordance with IT Department and Cyber Security office.

- Coordinate internal resources and mentor the junior developer resources.

- Write both technical documents and projects plans.

- Prepare and share accurate and periodical progress reports

Required Skills/ Knowledge

- Experience in software team leadership of complex SW projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, quality and costs.

- Having led the development at least of one complex system from conceptual phase to the commissioning in railway sector it is a must.

- At least 15 years of experience in developing and design of complex web applications.

- Experience in developing on Windows Server based platform.

- Strong technical competence/experiences on:

- Operative System: Microsoft Windows, Linux (SuSe, RedHat)

- CMS: Tridion, Sitecore, WordPress, Microsoft SharePoint

- Languages: .NET Framework, C#, Xamarin, VB.NET, C/C++, HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, jQuery, XML, Ajax, CSS, JavaScript, MVC5

- Web Server: Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SharePoint

- Database: SQL Server, TSQL, Entity Framework, MySQL, PostgreSQL, No SQL DB

- IDE: Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse

- Networking: network design and protocols (VPN, TCP/UDP, FTP, Routing, MQTT/AMQP, REST, etc.)

- Office Tools and Reports: Microsoft Project, Office Suite, Access, Publisher, PowerBI, Graphana, PowerReport.

- Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.

- Experience in developing Maintenance Management Solution for railways it is a plus.

- Knowledge of the rail maintenance processes and practices are a plus

- Skills on AI-related technologies are a plus.

- Availability for short-term national and international business trip.
