DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports & Leisure is the platform responsible for managing Arrow Global's Hospitality, Sports & Leisure assets in Portugal. It currently oversees several hotel units located in Vilamoura, Carvoeiro, Lagos, Albufeira and Madeira, as well as the largest golf portfolio in Portugal, including the golf courses in Vilamoura, PGA Aroeira Lisboa, Palmares and Vale Pisão. Internationally, DETAILS also manages two golf courses in Sicily, integrated within the Costa Ragusa destination. In addition, it is responsible for the management of the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance and agronomic management of all playing surfaces, ensuring world-class course conditions in line with international standards. The role also oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of maintenance practices, supporting both the construction/grow-in phase and long-term operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Maintain all playing surfaces (greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, roughs) to the highest quality standardsImplement and manage turf care programs, including fertilization, irrigation, and pest controlEnsure efficient water use and environmentally responsible maintenance practicesSupport golf course construction, grow-in, and turf establishment phasesOversee irrigation installation, soil preparation, and agronomic planning during developmentEnsure smooth transition from construction to full operational maintenanceBuild, recruit, train, and lead the maintenance team from the ground upDefine work procedures, schedules, and operational standardsPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety regulationsOversee maintenance and operation of all course machinery and equipmentManage inventory of materials, chemicals, and maintenance suppliesSupport budgeting and cost control for maintenance operationsImplement sustainable turf management practices aligned with environmental policiesMonitor and adopt new technologies and modern agronomic techniquesWork closely with the General Manager and management team on course conditions and operational needsCoordinate with golf operations to ensure optimal playing conditions and player experienceSupport procurement of machinery, irrigation systems, and agronomic inputsKey Qualifications:Technical diploma or degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Turfgrass Management, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in a similar role on high-quality golf coursesStrong knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, pest control, and sustainability practicesProven leadership and team management skills with a focus on quality and efficiencyStrong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesFluency in English;
