Are you a skilled Electrical Engineer ready to lead the design, installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems for major Oil & Gas project?Are you looking for your next challenge?Hill International is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer ton support the expansion of a major offshore oil and gas complex in Libya.The project will be managed from Milan, and the successful candidate will be required to have the right to work in Italy.As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment used in oil and gas facilities. This includes ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory and company standards across all project phases, from design and construction to commissioning and operations.Roles and ResponsibilitiesReview and consent to the design electrical power distribution systems (LV, MV, HV) for oil and gas installations.Review the developed single - line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, grounding and lighting layouts.Review and approve the selected electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, batteries, and motors.Perform electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination).Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, API, NEMA, ATEX).Project Execution & ProcurementReview and approve vendor documents and technical specifications.Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and equipment datasheets.Interface with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction teams to ensure design integration.Supervise installation of electrical systems and ensure compliance with approved designs and standards.Conduct inspection, testing, and pre - commissioning of electrical equipment.Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests).Troubleshoot issues during installation and commissioning phases.Operations & MaintenanceSupport operations teams in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems.Review condition monitoring data (e.g., IR thermography, insulation resistance tests).Participate in root cause analysis for electrical failures.Ensure asset integrity and optimize electrical system performance over the asset lifecycle.Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and SkillsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited universityWork experience of five (5) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degreeExcellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reportsIn - depth knowledge of electrical design for oil & gas environments (onshore/offshore).Familiarity with hazardous area classification and equipment selection.Experience with electrical system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, DigSILENT).Understanding of electrical protection systems, earthing, lighting, and lightning protection.Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
