Housekeeping Supervisor – Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel – Milan

Location: Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milani, 101 guestrooms and 15 suites, near Teatro alla Scala.

Employment type: Full‑time, 5 days a week, 2 days off; start date approximately April.

What you will do

  • Coordinate housekeeping activity, planning and distributing room‑cleaning assignments with the outsourcing company.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas after cleaning to ensure the highest standards.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues and missing or damaged property to Engineering and Security.
  • Run sold‑room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
  • Assist Housekeeping management in daily activities, especially laundry operations.
  • Act as liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms together with the Front Desk.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company, safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Support the team to reach common goals and comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Enter and locate work‑related information using computers and/or point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and company guidelines.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Director of Housekeeping.

What you’ll need

  • Warm, people‑oriented demeanor and team‑first attitude.
  • Positive outlook and outgoing personality.
  • Flexibility, problem‑solving skills and multi‑tasking ability.
  • Strong storytelling skills in English and at least intermediate Italian (both writing and speaking).
  • Previous housekeeping supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Technical knowledge of Opera (preferred).

Location: Via Vittorio Veneto 125, Rome, 187.

Employment type: Full‑time, position start approximately July.

Position summary

  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc., after cleaning to ensure quality standards.
  • Run sold‑room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize cleaning, and update departing room status.
  • Assist Housekeeping management in managing daily activities.
  • Act as liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
  • Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
  • Communicate issues to next shift and complete required paperwork.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities, thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; listen and respond appropriately to concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Maintain physical capacity to move, lift, carry, and place objects up to 55 pounds.
  • Enter and locate work‑related information using computers and/or point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Read and verify information in a variety of formats.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • License or certification: None specified.
