Position Summary The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping operations within a graphite manufacturing facility. This role ensures the accurate, safe, and timely shipment of graphite products—including raw graphite materials, machined components, and specialty carbon products—to customers and distribution partners. The Shipping Coordinator coordinates daily logistics activities, supervises shipping personnel, maintains compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supports inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Logistics Operations

Lead daily outbound shipping activities, ensuring on-time and accurate order fulfillment. Coordinate preparation, packaging, labeling, and documentation for domestic and international shipments. Verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, commercial invoices, export paperwork). Ensure proper handling and packaging of graphite products to prevent damage and contamination.

Team Leadership & Supervision

Supervise and train shipping team members on processes, safety procedures, and quality standards. Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production and shipment schedules. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching as needed and assist in performance reviews.

Inventory & Systems Management

Maintain accurate shipping records. Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy. Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory processes. Track shipping metrics (on-time delivery, shipping errors, freight costs).

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements. Enforce proper use of PPE and safe material handling procedures. Maintain clean and organized shipping areas in alignment with 5S standards. Ensure compliance with export regulations (e.g., EAR/ITAR if applicable).

Quality & Customer Support

Verify product specifications and packaging requirements before shipment. Address shipping discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions. Communicate proactively with customer service and sales teams regarding shipment status.

Requirements Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. 3–5 years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment (industrial or heavy materials preferred). 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Technical Skills

Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems. Familiarity with freight carriers (LTL, FTL, international freight, air/ocean). Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification). Working knowledge of export documentation and hazardous material shipping (if applicable).

Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to dust, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery. Regular lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, and operating forklifts. May require occasional overtime to meet production or shipping deadlines.
