Software Engineer – Next-generation Technologies Google’s software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale and extend well beyond web search. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas including information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in programming in C++.

5 years of experience testing, launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi‑Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI‑related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

Preferred qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Experience developing, experimenting and launching full‑stack applications (backend, frontend, experimentation, data analysis).

Experience working with Applied Machine Learning (ML) or Generative AI (Gen AI), Gemini and internal tools like AI Flow.

Migrations Specialist – Enterprise Cloud Migration Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and build what’s next for their business — all with technology built in the cloud. As part of an entrepreneurial team, you will play a key role in understanding the needs of our customers and help shape the future of businesses of all sizes using technology to connect with customers, employees and partners.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in data center offloading leading to cloud migrations of enterprise workloads including VMs and Containers, VMware clusters, and Oracle technology and applications.

10 years of experience designing and proposing a migration strategy using both Google Cloud differentiators and other cloud providers.

Ability to communicate in English and German, French or Italian fluently in order to communicate in this customer‑facing sales role.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with VMware technology and licensing, including participant positioning on migrations against other cloud providers.

Experience with estimating all the costs for building TCO/ROI business cases.

Knowledge of migration tools, strategy and best practices, including both generic migration tools like migration center and specialized tools like VMware and vMotion.

Knowledge of key migration aspects such as security, compliance, governance and operations.

Responsibilities

Design the target architecture and the migration strategy of enterprise workloads including VMware technology, interact with the customer stakeholders and challenge the status quo proposing innovative and differentiating solutions to maximize customer value.

Involve Google Cloud Consulting (GCC) or a partner with specific VMware skills in order to get to a detailed migration plan and effort estimation.

Work with the account team to size the target architecture as well as the migration costs, consider all costs like software licensing and network traffic and security, in order to support the TCO/ROI estimation.

Support the account teams or the migration and transformation architects on the solution design with the target architecture including VMware sourced workloads, and the detailed project planning and estimation.
