Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT & CONTROL CONFIGURATION ENGINEER who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The position is based in Genoa, Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the configuration and production of the assigned portion of functional design documentation and project activities.
  • Contribute to the data configuration of specific and generic applications.
  • Participate in testing sessions and error detection, including requirements traceability and verification.
  • Manage requirements related to functional design, ensuring traceability and verification.
  • Reference industry standards in deliverables (e.g., CENELEC, IPC).
  • Execute verification activities on issued documents and/or project parts per the V&V Plan.
  • Perform gap analysis between customer requirements and company products.
  • Prepare functional design documentation: system requirements, architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables, and analyses as appropriate.

Mission

Deliver the configuration and production of the assigned part of the functional Traffic Management System design of an automation project in accordance with industry and company standards.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • 1 to 3 years of railway and/or automation working experience.
  • Knowledge of railway and/or metro automation systems.
  • Understanding of automation and signaling system/subsystem architecture.
  • Experience with SW techniques, database management, testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of RAM (if applicable), CENELEC, and quality standards is a plus.
  • Planning and organization activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent technical background.

Languages

  • Good Italian proficiency.
  • Good English proficiency.

Location: San Donnino di Liguria, Italy.
